Nursing Philosophy
Focus on the Patient is central to the nursing philosophy at LewisGale Hospital at Montgomery. It is the patient's right to receive compassionate, competent and safe care with ongoing communication of the treatment plan in an evidence-based practice environment. Committed leadership provides nursing staff with supplies, equipment, technology and education to successfully care for patients. Modified primary care and team nursing are the methods of nursing care delivery. Nursing staff share in decision-making and can be leaders through the development of their own professional and ethical practice of nursing. Patient care demands supportive and fully engaged interdisciplinary team members focused on common goals and outcomes benchmarked to achieve excellence. The importance of work/life balance is acknowledged and valued. Life-long learning is considered essential. Self-scheduling is encouraged throughout nursing services
