LewisGale Hospital at Montgomery Recognized as a Certified Quality Breast Center of Excellence

Blacksburg, Virginia, October 29, 2010 – LewisGale Hospital at Montgomery was recently recognized as a Certified Quality Breast Center of Excellence by the National Consortium of Breast Centers. This is the highest level of certification available through the National Quality Measures for Breast Centers Program (NQMCC).
This certification means the hospital consistently provides the highest level of quality breast care to its patients based on more than 33 quality indicators.
“We consider this certification an honor,” said Scott Hill, LewisGale Hospital at Montgomery CEO. “This is validation of the commitment of our staff to ensure our breast patients always receive an exceptional level of care.”
The National Consortium of Breast Centers believes measuring and comparing quality performance is essential in assessing patient care and allocating resources where improvement is desired to ensure patients receive the best possible care.
